
In this section we provide information for international students wishing to join a Master's programme at one of our universities. Most Master's programmes are consecutive, which means they are intended for students who are moving on directly from a Bachelor's programme. A small number of non-consecutive Master's programmes are also offered.

Prerequisites
Applicants for Master's programmes must possess at least a first university degree (i.e. a Bachelor's degree gained in three or four years of study) in an appropriate academic discipline.
Applicants from China, Mongolia and Vietnam
must first contact the APS (Akademische Prüfstelle, Academic Evaluation Centre) at the German Embassies before beginning their application procedure. The ASK in Constance cannot process these applications without this APS-Certificate. Further information can be found under:
Some universities evaluate applications directly, others require the ASK certificate as for the Bachelor's programmes. For further information on application procedures and language requirements at the respective universities please browse the links of the universities stated below.
German language requirements
Because most of the degree programmes are taught primarily in German, degree-seeking students must provide evidence of proficiency in German, by means of EITHER
Minimum requirements are 14 points for TestDaF or Level 2 for DSH.

Please note: our universities do not offer preparatory courses for the TestDaF or DSH. The exams cannot be taken there, but have to be completed elsewhere.
Some Master programmes are taught in English. They require evidence of proficiency in English. For further information on requirements please look up the homepages of the respective universities.
Application for a Master’s Programme
If you wish to apply to study for a Master's degree at one of the universities, please fill out an application form for admission (Antrag auf Zulassung), which is available on our university websites as a download.
Your completed application must arrive at the University not later than the deadlines mentioned on the homepages of the universities. If the deadline falls on a Sunday or a Public Holiday, then your application must arrive by the end of the following working day.
Applications which are submitted after the deadline, or which are incomplete, will not be considered.
